    Parent Meeting Notes

Thanks to those who made it to the meeting on Sunday. Here is all the information that you need if you weren't able to make it.

    PRACTICES

Morning practices begin Thursday! We will NOT practice tomorrow (it's the last day of school!) nor we will practice on Memorial Day (May 27). Here are the practice times:

    5&6 8:30-9

    7&8 9-9:30

    9&10 9:30-10:15

    11&Up 10:15-11

For the safety of the swimmers, the league asks that parents and siblings are not on the pool deck during practice. Also, please don't coach your swimmer during their practice! That can be distracting to all the swimmers in the water. Coach Maggie and Coach Matt will be sure to work with your swimmer.

We understand that not everyone can be here for every single practice. The more you come, the better you get, but we understand that sometimes you have to miss.

    MEETS

It's easy to declare whether your swimmer will be here for each meet. Log into SwimTopia and click on the Meets tab at the top. When you click on each meet, you will see a green Meet Entries button. Click on that and you will see your swimmer listed at the bottom. Click on the Edit button to get the drop down box to say whether or not your swimmer is attending that meet. Please do this for every meet as soon as possible! This is how the coach know that your swimmer can be placed in the line up. Coach Maggie will be working on the line up for Tuesday's meet this weekend, so it's vital that she knows who is here and who is not!

    The meet schedule is:

May 28 (home v Holly Springs)

June 3 (home v Chimney Lakes)

    June 10 (at Mountain Creek)

    June 17 (at East Cobb)

Meets begin promptly at 6pm, with warm ups at either 5pm or 5:30. You'll notice that we only have 4 official meets this season. This is due to a team in our division dropping out at the last minute. We are talking about having an Inter Squad meet on June 24, but that will depend on interest and availability. There will be more information about this later.

Please download the SwimTopia app for your phone. Coach Maggie will be entering the events for each meet and you can have those right on your phone! We will also hand out events at practice on the morning of the meet. At the end of every meet, I'll upload the results and you will be able to see times for your swimmer.

Each swimmer is eligible for 5 events total: 3 individual and 2 relays. Depending on the needs for a particular meet, your swimmer may swim all 5 or less. The only requirement for meets is that your swimmer be able to swim one length of the pool (25 yards) unassisted.

The morning after every meet is called Donuts anAd Ribbons, and the team will meet at the pool at 10am for donuts and ribbons. Coach Maggie and Coach Matt will review the meet from the night before, and then the team will have free swim until 11. Siblings are welcome to swim as long as they are accompanied by an adult.

    VOLUNTEERS

We cannot run meets without volunteers. As you declare your swimmers availability, you may also go ahead and sign up to volunteer for each meet. All families must volunteer at every meet. The shifts are divided between Early and Late, so you only have to sign up for one shift. Please note, however, that we may need more that one shift covered per family, especially at the home meets. Kendra Lockhart and Adriana Frewin are our Volunteer Coordinators, and they will be on hand during the meet to answer any questions.

    CONCESSIONS

Please sign up via the sign up genius to donate baked goods or fruit for us to sell during the home meets. Our neighbor, Jeff Statia, will smoke bbq, Marcos Pizza donates 10 pizzas per meet, and we will have Chick Fil A sandwiches for sale. Please plan to eat dinner at the home meets!

    PICTURE DAY

Clix will be here again this season to take individual and team pictures. They will take pictures of every swimmer, regardless if you buy an individuals. Siblings can be taken together, and we will also take a team picture. Picture Day is June 6, and more info will come soon.

Our End of Season Party will be June 19. This is a great time for our swim families to celebrate the end of the season. We will grill and have games, hand out medals and awards, it's a really fun evening! Hope that you all can be here!

Please let me know if you have any questions!

    Thanks,

    Leah
