2021 Swim Team Update
CROCS,
It has been a wild ride and I know that we are all anxious to get back to 'normal,' and we hope this finds all of our swimmers healthy! We wanted to update you on the 2021 season. Cobb County Summer Swim League will be going forward and has planned the summer season accordingly. They have Covid protocols in place for the meets, which we have attached for you to consider. In order to accommodate everything they require, we will need more volunteers than ever to help successfully run each meet. We are reaching out to you to gauge your interest in having a formal season this summer. We need 49 swimmers to field a team, and most years we have roughly 60. If you don't mind, look through the protocols and let us know if your swimmer would participate in swim team this summer with these protocols for meets in place. We have two new coaches lined up that were on deck to take over last summer and have already expressed that they are ready to go for this summer. We want to see if we would have enough swimmers register and enough parents are willing to volunteer to help with the meets. You can email us at [email protected].
All this being said, I did want to let you know that I am officially stepping down as Coordinator. I have really enjoyed my years with the CROCS, but I am now in graduate school and it is time for me to move on. Angela Garcia-Ferrer has agreed to help out this summer, but it is not likely that she will fully take over. We both will still be available to help and will fully train any new coordinator(s), but I can no longer be the one in charge. If you or anyone you know is interested in keeping the team going, please let us know!
I hope that you are all enjoying your Spring Break, and I know that we will all be so relieved when this pandemic is fully behind us. For now, we do need to continue to be cautious and this summer's swim season will reflect that. Please feel free to reach out with any questions!
Thanks,
Leah
